The United Arab Emirates has gone through great improvements and growth in the latest few years. Those great achievements that the country has witnessed are a source of pride for all those who have chosen to live here. It is no wonder that the country now attracts visitors more than ever before. With those improvements, many new tourist attractions were built and many job opportunities were found. Under the rule of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, UAE did flourish and grow.
On Friday, May 13, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan passed away and the country announced 40 days of mourning. Sheikh Khalifa ruled the country from 2004 until 2022. Before he became president, Sheikh Khalifa was the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and head of Abu Dhabi’s Supreme Petroleum Council. As UAE’s second President, and as aforementioned, he helped bring the UAE, to global prominence. During the financial crisis of 2008, he succeeded in leading the country through difficult times. The country oversaw many economic reforms during his Presidency.
The New President of The UAE
Following the unfortunate passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was elected the new President of UAE. In the coming few lines, we will be introducing more about the new president and wishing him the best in leading the country for more growth and flourishing.
As for the new President’s academic life, he studied in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi schools till the age of 18. After that, he joined the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he trained in the armoury, helicopter flying, tactical flying and paratroops to return home to the UAE and join the Officers’ Training Course in Sharjah.
To mention a few of the positions he held before His Highness became the president of the country, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan became an officer in the Amiri Guard (the UAE’s elite security force) and a pilot in the UAE Air Force, and a Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Guided by the instructions and directions of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may their souls rest in peace, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed improved the strategic planning, training and organizational structure of the UAE Armed forces that it became a leading institution greatly admired by a lot of international military organizations.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is known for his devotion to enhancing the educational standards in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to make them on a level with the international ones. He held the position of the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Education Council. There, he has worked hard to form partnerships with prestigious world-class educational institutions. As a result of his efforts, a number of those institutions set plans to either establish a base in or join strategic joint ventures with existing academic establishments in the country.

As the country says goodbye to one of the influential leaders, it welcomes another. The country will continue to witness more flourishing and growth under the rule of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and we wish him the best in every step.
