We all know Expo 2020 is going to be amazing. One of the biggest events in UAE’s history is set to commence on October 1st, 2021. It goes without saying that Expo 2020 is going to be a defining event of the decade, if not the century. People participating in it will be taking part in history. The event is going to define the world of the future as many innovative and creative ideas will be presented to the world.
Before jumping into the process of how to become a volunteer, below is the criteria one must fulfil to become eligible to apply for volunteer registration.
- The applicant must be 18 years of age, or above, as of October 20th, 2020
- A valid Emirate ID – whether you are an Emirati or a resident of any nationality, you are eligible to apply as long as you have an Emirate ID
- The applicant must have a good command of Arabic and English
- The applicant must sign up and register on the expo site, provide all the information and submit the application

How To Become An Expo 2020 Volunteer
Step One: Fill out the Registration Form for Volunteer for Expo 2020
Go through the Expo website, generate and get your volunteer login and fill in the signup form. Provide all the information required and then submit the application.
Once you have submitted the application, you will receive an email with your volunteer application.
Step Two: Choose the Role You Like the Best
In the application form, you will have to select the role you are applying for. Each role has its own responsibilities.
Before you sign up, make sure you have about three to four weeks for your volunteer jobs.
Step Three: Interview
When you have submitted the application, you will receive an email for your interview. The email will contain information about the time slot available for your interview. Typically, this email is received within a couple of days.
For Dubai residents, the interviews will be held at the House of Volunteers. If you live in another emirate than Dubai, you will have to wait for a visit to your hometown.
Step Four: Training Session
If you are selected as a volunteer for Expo 2020, you will be invited to attend the mandatory training session. This four-day training session will make sure you are ready to take part in the biggest event!
